Pipeline surges are created by sudden changes in velocity of the liquid flowing in the system. This surging is often called "water hammer", and can result in pressures of many times normal operating pressure. It can be caused by quick closing valves, pump start up or shut down, back surge, and other system effects. | Thermal Expansion Compensator  |
When fluid in a closed system experiences an increase in temperature, the thermal growth of the fluid manifests itself as an increase in pressure. The Hydropad protects against ruptured piping and fittings from this expansion by absorbing the expanded quantity of fluid and limiting the pressure increases. Use of other devices such as burst disks or pressure relief valves may cause other problems. Suction Stabalizer  |
The cylinders in a pump will starve without suction stabilization, and poor efficiency and premature wear will result. A Hydropad suction stabilizer is mounted on the inlet side of a pump to eliminate acceleration head and ensures that each cylinder fills. The Hydropad supplies the required force to accelerate the fluid intake at the begining of each stroke. |
